“Paranoia Everytime There are Reports of RSF Shelling”

Before the war half of my close family lived outside Sudan. After the war, only three cousins, their children, and my aunt remain. It was difficult for the entire family to gather even before the war. Now that everybody has scattered into foreign countries, it will be even more difficult to have a reunion.

My entire family has been impacted in severe ways by the war. The husband of one of my cousins was kidnapped by the RSF. It was only through a middleman that they were able to arrange for his release after one week. Her children stay at my aunt's house, and after the kidnapping even her husband has moved there. The danger has driven all my other cousins who remained in Sudan into Egypt. 

Sometimes there is no connection to my family in Sudan for weeks. I suffer from paranoia everytime there are reports of RSF shelling. One of my cousin's children is depressed. Catching up with him is hard, as he has no energy to reply to even his best friends. My family tries to call as much as possible and update us on their situation.Yet, everybody feels helpless.

Sudan is my home country and I wish to return to it. I want to see it prosper and I want my family, which is scattered into Arab countries, to return. I wish for a Sudan where we can all live in peace and dignity.
