Floating Amongst Two Universes by Ahlam Yassin

Public School Palestinian Educator

I cannot get the images of children and mothers out of my mind, or the aching tenderness of Palestinian men for their families and community. Every minute of every day, my mind is consumed with sights, sounds, and torment that is a direct result of the settler colonial project. It feels like floating amongst two universes simultaneously. In one, there is anguish and despair for a life that was less brutal on the colonial continuum, and on the other, I go about my day through the motions or normalcy wondering how everyone is not enraged about the loss of our humanity once again?
